Biodiesel Production & Pure Raw Material Preparation
Biodiesel production is primarily accomplished through esterification and transesterification. The transesterification process involves reacting vegetable oils and used vegetable waste oils with alcohol using a basic catalyst, producing methyl esters.
When producing biodiesel from used vegetable waste oils, other technology companies often require the installation of a costly Thin Film Evaporator (TFE) system. Otherwise, they cannot guarantee biodiesel production that meets the EN14214 standard. However, thanks to the innovative technology developed by Save Tech Process Consulting, we can produce biodiesel in compliance with the EN14214 standard without the need for a TFE system, which causes high operating costs and an approximately 10% yield loss.
Innovative Approach and Cost-Effective Solutions
Acidic catalysts, used in traditional esterification processes, particularly for processing oils with high free fatty acid (FFA) content, are not currently considered effective methods due to their high cost and excessively corrosive effects on equipment. This is where Save Tech Process Consulting stands out with its innovative process methods and high-efficiency technologies.
In biodiesel production, achieving the quality required by the EN14214 standard is crucial. However, due to the structural characteristics of the oils, it is not always possible to meet some of the parameters specified by the standard, necessitating the use of various additives and, consequently, increasing operating costs.
At Save Tech Process Consulting, we've conducted extensive matrix studies using the structural properties of oils to minimize operating costs and increase production efficiency. In particular, we offer more applicable and highly efficient technologies for processing oils with high free fatty acid (FFA) content, unlike traditional methods. Instead of converting these oils directly into biodiesel, we esterify them through glycerolysis and then convert them to biodiesel using Save Tech's proprietary process, ensuring high yields. This approach not only increases efficiency but also minimizes corrosive effects, extending equipment life and reducing operating costs.
We also have in-depth expertise in glycerin purification processes. Save Tech also installs feedstock preparation processes from used frying oils (UCO) and acid oils for the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This allows us to offer sustainable solutions for future fuel needs.
As Save Tech, we examine the process stages of businesses in detail;
